Local volunteers

Are you based in Cambridge and would you like to volunteer with CIO (but can’t join a team full time)?
Local volunteers have a key role to play in supporting the CIO teams in various ways, and connecting the summer outreach with local churches and with the international ministries that happen during the academic year.
There are lots of different ways to be involved and we hope that some of them will suit the time you have available and the skills God has given you, or wants you to grow in!
We hope and pray this collaboration of team members and volunteers enables God's love and gospel to be more fully made known to internationals in Cambridge this summer.

Thank you for your willingness to find out more!

Hosting team members:
Providing free bed and breakfast for one or two Christian team members, 15 - 20 minutes cycle/walk from Cambridge town centre.
5th – 19th July, 19th July – 2nd August 2026.

Help with bikes:
Do you have several hours each month from May-September?

Our team members get around town on our fleet of bikes, stored outside Cambridge the rest of the year. In May and June the bikes are checked and prepared/fixed. We hire a van to bring them into town in late June. On 2 Sundays we need help giving out the bikes to team members.

You will need availability to help fix/transport bikes before the outreach starts, and to help out on some Sundays and possibly some weekdays over the summer.

Contact Jenny Hunter to discuss helping out jenny.hunter@friendsinternational.uk or 07817 117883

The weekday activities will take place at Parker's Piece (sports), St Andrew's Street Baptist Church (English Corner, Andy's café) and Eden Baptist Church (evening meal and washing up).

Interested in any of the above? Register your interest in volunteering: www.ficambs.uk/ciovolunteers Then we’ll be in touch with more information and to complete the Friends International volunteer signup process (we ask that all our volunteers sign the Friends International statement of faith, and provide the name of someone from their church who can write a short reference, if you haven't done so already).
